CICS Socket Interface - Tips and Techniques - Installation
What you need:
- CICS and a TCP/IP for MVS stack.
- TCP/IP 3.2 for MVS or higher.
- Preferably, CICS/ESA 4.1 or higher.
- Preferably, OS/390 1.3 or higher.
- "Required" IBM documentation/manuals:
- CICS TCP/IP Socket Interface Guide and Reference, SC31-7131,
for TCP/IP 3.2 (OS/390 1.3), or
- OS/390 eNetwork Communications Server IP CICS Sockets Guide,
SC31-8518, for TCP/IP 3.4 (OS/390 2.5) and higher.
- "Recommended" IBM documentation/redbooks:
- CICS/ESA and TCP/IP for MVS Sockets Interface, GG24-4026.
- A Beginner's Guide to MVS TCP/IP Socket Programming, GG24-2561.
- Accessing CICS Business Applications from the World Wide Web, SG24-4547.
- Ability to code CICS applications with socket calls.
- A TCP/IP host to communicate with CICS.
