As I indicate in my Syllabus, each member of the class will produce a written project during the course of the semester. This assignment will count for 10% of your final score and will be graded on a pass/fail basis, subject to the following RULES:
1. Content: I want you to comment on the reading materials assigned for Professor Attila Andrade's lecture. I would like you to answer the following question: How do these materials compare to/differ from the traditional casebooks used in most of your regular classes? In discussing this, please especially consider and reference our readings on comparative legal education. Imagination and good humor are strongly encouraged. When referring to our materials, please cite specific pages in parenthesis. I will assume that "(p. ##)" is a citation to a page in our edited materials, therefore, do not use a full-citation format.
2. Length: No less than two, no more than three typed letter-size pages. Maximum double spaced. One inch margins all around.
3. When, Where and How: DUE DATE: I will hand out a schedule later in the semester. ALL ESSAYS MUST BE DELIVERED ON OR BEFORE 5:00 P.M., on Thursday, November 12, 2009. The essays must be turned in to me, before or after class or in my office, or to my secretary, Betty Donaldson, in the secretarial pool office. Early submission or submssion by email are fine.
4. Discussion: I will be available to meet with each student to discuss his or her essay by appointment. I will bring sign-up sheets to class to allow students to sign up for individual appointments.
