Quick Reference Cards

spacer

The following pages are Quick Reference Cards (QRC) for each of the four e-mail programs we’ve covered in this document.

The purpose of a QRC is to provide quick access to the most commonly used commands or functions of the software. You should find that virtually all the options for each e-mail program are included on each QRC. Some of the prompts, and sub-commands have been left off for clarity. This should not create a problem since most dialogs and prompts are fairly self-explanatory.

Each QRC is organized in the same way. The left side of the page has a listing of actions you can perform in the e-mail program. They are organized according to the main function they are related to. The right side shows you what keys to press, buttons to click, menus to choose, or input to type in for the corresponding action on the left. Sometimes more than one method is available (particularly with the Windows e-mail clients) and all methods are shown if possible.

The document conventions have been followed on the QRC’s in order to maintain consistency with the rest of the document. In a few cases document conventions where not used because they hampered clarity.

Each QRC should fit on one sheet of paper if copied on both sides. You can remove the QRC’s and use them separately from the rest of the document. However, it’s highly recommended that you read the document section for each e-mail program before using the QRC’s. This is because the QRC’s do not include detailed explanations of the program. The documentation is intended to teach you the basic functionality of each program, while the QRC’s are only intended to help you remember the specific procedures to use to implement those functions.
