Ecological Economics and Sustainable Development

The Santa Fe Institute is a center of complexity research.
Complex Systems Index, Complex-Adaptive Systems Page, the Non-linearity and Complexity Page and the Complex Systems Page all provide collections of pointers to complexity sites on the web. As might be expected they overlap a fair bit.
Principia Cybernetica server describes Belgian cybernetics work.
Complexity International deals with Complex Systems such as artificial life, genetic algorithms, and ecosystem studies.

The Yahoo internet index procides links to ecology resources on the web. This site includes links to LTER sites, Conservation Ecology, and other ecology web sites.
The IUCN's red list of threatened species around the world.
The Smithsonian is on the web, and it publishes the Natural History Web.
Canada's Carleton University Publishes a Biology/Ecology Web Page.
There is a web server for Ecological Modelling at the University of Kassel.
The Ecological Society of America publishes Environmental Policy Updates and information about upcoming meetings.

The Landsat Pathfinder Project provides access to an excellent database of satellite images.
Climate Prediction Center. It also publishes a Global Warming Update, maintains the National Geophysical Data Center and compiles the National Environmental Data Index.
Global work on the institutional side of climate change can be found at the UNEP Climate Change site.
NASA publishes the Global Change Master Directory, runs the Global Change Data Center provides images from NASA's Imaging Radar and access to information from its Earth Observing System and the Mission to Planet Earth.
Rutgers University's Center for Remote Sensing and Spatial Analysis provides information of the GRASS GIS, and links to GIS information on the web.
The Global Analysis, Interpretation and Modelling Program at the University of New Hampshire describes the development of global biogeochemical models.

The U.S. Global Change Research Information Office (GCRIO) provides access to global change and environmental information from around the world. It sponsors the global change magazine Consequences.

Environment and Nature Links from the Yahoo Index.
They may have a GOP contract on their lives, but the National Biological Survey, and the United States Geological Survey are both on-line. As is Natural Resources Canada. The USGS offers maps of US water conditions.
Canada Institute for Scientific and Technical Information provides access to Canadian research publications and abstracts.
The Fish and Wildlife service provides National Wetlands Inventory, but of course what the law considers to be a wetland looks like it is going to change for the worse.
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) provides a variety of information, including information on stratospheric ozone depletion.
The US Library of Congress provides access to government, exhibits and indexes of its collections.
Updates on recent earthquakes around the world can be found at Earthquake Information.
The Canadian Department of Energy, Mines and Resources provides the Canadian National Atlas Information Service, featuring interactive map generation.
Finally some of the best large scale long term biological data is now on-line. Check out the The North American Breeding Bird Survey, we certainly are.
